There are many reasons to consider participating in the Windsor Medicare Extra network, but we believe the most important reason is because of the benefits it brings to your patients, our members. When your patients become Windsor Medicare Extra members, they are enrolled in an “all-in-one” plan that offers the combined benefits of original Medicare, Medicare Supplements, and the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, all from one source. One ID card, one member service number. And benefits like coverage for annual physicals, vision and hearing services that exceed coverage typically available from any other source.
In addition to being a good idea for your patients, we strive to be the health plan that doctors and hospitals want to work with. For example, we do not require prior authorization when referring a patient to another physician. And, although we encourage our members to establish a relationship with a primary care physician, we recognize that a better approach for some members is to identify a specialist as their primary physician. We think these decisions are best made by members and their doctors, not by their health plan.
Finally, we endeavor to listen to our members and contracted providers and use their input in our quality management process.
