Medicare Options
The Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 made it possible for companies like Windsor Health Plan, Inc., to work with Medicare so that they could provide your Medicare benefits plus additional benefits—helping you save money on hospital, medical, and even prescription drug costs.
There’s been plenty of talk about Medicare prescription drug coverage. But there’s so much more available to you! It helps if you understand the four parts of the Medicare program:
PART A is hospital insurance. After you pay a deductible, it covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, home health care, and hospice care.
PART B is medical insurance. After you pay a deductible, it pays 80% of Medicare-approved costs for doctor services, outpatient hospital services, preventive services, and ambulance services.
PART C is a series of Medicare-approved plans offered through private insurance companies. These plans are called Medicare Advantage plans, and they provide coverage above and beyond Parts A and B. They give you a greater number of choices and benefits. Medicare Advantage plans cover the same benefits as Parts A and B, plus many of the benefits that Medigap policies covered, and have varying premiums starting at $0 per month.
PART D provides coverage for prescription drugs if you’re enrolled in certain Medicare Advantage plans and prescription drug plans, or if you are entitled to Medicare under Part A and enrolled in Part B.
You can enroll in Part A only, Part B only, or both Parts A and B. Or, you can enroll in Part C (a Medicare Advantage plan), if you have Parts A and B. You can also enroll in Part D if you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, or Parts A and B.
If you think that’s confusing, you’re right.
That’s why Windsor Medicare Extra was created—to make it easy for you to get all the Medicare benefits you need from one local company.
Make No Mistake—This is Medicare.
Windsor Medicare Extra is a Medicare Advantage plan. And, as
the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) handbook
“Medicare and You” explains, when you are enrolled in a
Medicare Advantage plan:
“You are still in the Medicare program.”
“You still have Medicare rights and protections.”
“You still get ALL your Medicare-covered services.”
In other words, Windsor Medicare Extra is adding extras to a complete Medicare package that covers all your needs—at a big savings to you.
Windsor Medicare Extra has plans available that eliminate the need for a separate drug plan or additional expenses like Medicare supplements. Depending upon the plan you select, virtually all of the “gaps” in Medicare Parts A and B that Medicare supplements have previously filled can now be covered by Windsor Medicare Extra… without the high cost.
